The Tread-TEQ Plastic Fit Card is used to determine what tread pattern your Escalator uses so you can select the appropriate type of cleaning pads ('V' or 'W'). As can be seen in the product image above, there is a 'V' and 'W' pattern on both short sides of the fit card which correspond to that particular tread pattern on the long sides of the fit card. Simply place the long sides of the fit card into your Escalator tread (one side at a time) to determine whether the 'V' or 'W' pattern is suitable.

Escalator brands that commonly use the 'W' tread pattern cleaning pads include:
- OTIS

- ThyssenKrupp
- Hyundai Steel
- Hitachi
Alternatively, you can count the number of ridges in a 30.5cm piece of the Escalator step:
- 34 Ridges = You need a 'V' pad
- 36 Ridges = You need a 'W' pad
